www.portraidi.ie is a finalist in three categories of the Realex Web Awards

The finalists in the Realex Web Awards 2016 were announced on Friday, September 3rd. www.portraidi.ie has been shortlisted in three categories: (i) Best Arts and Culture Website; (ii) An Suíomh Gaeilge is Fearr (Best Irish-language Website), and; (iii) Best Practice.

The annual Realex Payments Web Awards, now in its tenth edition, recognises the best websites published Ireland across a broad range of categories. The publisher, COMHAR Teo., and Foras na Gaeilge, the funding agency who first commissioned Máire Uí Mhaicín to undertake the Portraits of Irish-Language Writers project, are pleased that www.portraidi.ie is a finalist in all three categories in which the website was initially nominated and that it is in the company of many other high-quality websites. This reflects the superb photographic work of Máire Uí Mhaicín as well the efforts of the editorial and technical team and their partners. It is hoped that these nominations will help further the main aim of the Portráidí project, that is to draw public attention to Irish-language writers and the quality of their work.

The full list of finalists may be viewed here. The awards will be made on September 28th at a event in Liberty Hall Theatre in Dublin.
