Ógie Ó Céilleachair is from the Gaeltacht of An Rinn in the Co. Waterford. He attented primary and secondary school in An Rinn. He then graduated with an honors degree in Arts at University College, Cork. While there he directed and directed the play, An Toghchán, with the UCC Irish Language Dramatic Society in 2004. He went on to do a Higher Diploma in Education at the National University of Ireland Galway. He wrote and directed the play, An Buachaillín Bán, with Cumann Drámaíochta OÉG in the year 2005. Following this he succeeded in obtaining a master's degree in Language Teaching at the Academy of Irish Language University Education, NUIG. Ógie spends his time between An Rinn and Limerick. He is a teacher of Irish, history & drama in Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, where he writes and performs a play with transition years every year. He has published a history textbook for the Junior Certificate, An Cúrsa Iomlán Staire. He has published three books with Cló Iar-Chonnacht. In 2011 he published the novel for teenagers, Cúpla. He published a collection of short stories for teenagers, Katfish & Scéalta Eile in 2017 and a novel for young adults, Árasán, in 2021.
